New Member Company: Gradle
Heavybit welcomes open-source infrastructure startup Gradle.
Heavybit welcomes our newest member company, Gradleware, the company behind the Gradle open-source project. Gradle is the fastest growing solution for software build infrastructure – equally well suited for agile, lightweight projects, as it is for the most complex enterprise workgroups.
Gradleware works to develop scalable enterprise build infrastructure enabling companies like LinkedIn, Netflix, GAP and Orbitz to gain the massive benefits of continuous delivery. The company’s growth in the enterprise is exceeded only by their growth in the Android development community, after Google made it the official build tool for Android in May 2013.
Says Heavybit founder James Lindenbaum, “As the world moves to continuous delivery of software, the entire development toolchain must be replaced; Gradleware has clearly created the next solution for managing software builds – a core and critical piece of the development cycle. With their huge traction in the hacker crowd and the enterprise, we’re excited to welcome them to the Heavybit family.”
As part of managing the growth, Gradleware Founder/CEO Hans Dockter has relocated from Berlin to Heavybit’s clubhouse and will begin building out his team’s San Francisco headquarters. The company will continue to have teams in Berlin and elsewhere in Europe.
