Carbon, a New Programming Language from Google, Aims to Be C++ Successor
While Carbon has many of the same goals as Rust, such as helping developers to create “performance-critical software,” Carbon is also intended to be fully interoperable with existing C++ code. Additionally, the goal is to make migrating from C++ to Carbon as easy as possible, if desired.
Slack is Increasing Its Prices and Making Big Changes to Its Free Plan
Slack is putting its prices up in September, alongside some big changes to its free plan. It’s the first price increase since Slack launched in 2014. On September 1st, monthly Pro subscriptions will increase from $8 to $8.75 per user per month, and annual Pro subscriptions will increase from $6.67 to $7.25 per user per month.

Stripe Reportedly Lowers Internal Valuation
Payments company Stripe slashed its internal valuation of its shares by 28%. Stripe isn’t the first company to lower its own valuation this year. Instacart cut its own valuation from $39 billion to $24 billion in March. The move came as tech stocks were hammered in the public markets.
